At Our Lady of the Assumption School, we believe that every student is a leader. Leadership is not just about holding a title—it’s about taking responsibility, serving others, and living out our values through action. Guided by the Gospel values of love, justice, and compassion, we encourage students to lead with integrity and kindness in all aspects of school life.
The Buddy Program
Our Senior students play an important role in welcoming and supporting our youngest learners through the Buddy Programme. This initiative helps Prep students feel safe, connected, and confident as they begin their school journey, while older students develop empathy and a sense of responsibility.
Student Leadership Opportunities
In their final year, Year 6 students have the opportunity to apply for formal leadership roles. At the start of the school year, students participate in an application and presentation process, developing real-world skills in communication and responsibility. Leadership positions include:
- School Captains
- Culture Captains
- House Captains
These roles allow students to contribute meaningfully to school life and model the values we hold dear.
At OLA, leadership is about service, example, and action—empowering every child to make a positive difference.
