At Our Lady of the Assumption School, we take a systematic, evidence-based approach to teaching and learning. We use a coordinated process to collect and analyse appropriate data, ensuring that every decision we make is focused on improving student outcomes.
Our whole-school processes enable us to access and use agreed data sets to:
- Focus on all learners and their progress, providing clear evidence of where each student is in their learning journey and achievement.
- Respond effectively in planning and teaching, ensuring continued growth for every student through targeted strategies.
- Inform professional learning needs, both at a whole-school and individual level, to strengthen literacy teaching and overall achievement.
The data we use includes national assessments, standardised tests, diagnostic tools, and teacher observations, all analysed to guide instruction and support personalised learning.
By embedding these practices across all year levels, we ensure consistency, transparency, and a shared commitment to excellence in education.
Assessment & Reporting
At Our Lady of the Assumption School, assessment and reporting are integral to supporting student learning and growth. We provide twice-yearly written reports at the end of Term Two and Term Four, ensuring families receive clear and meaningful feedback on their child’s progress.
Parent–Teacher Communication
In addition to formal reporting, Our Lady of the Assumption School offers two scheduled Parent-Teacher Meetings each year, held in Term 1 and Term 3. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss student progress and set goals collaboratively.
We value strong partnerships with families and encourage open communication at all times throughout the year. Parents are invited to connect with teaching staff whenever needed to support their child’s learning and wellbeing.
