STEM @ OLA

At Our Lady of the Assumption School, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is an integral part of learning in every classroom. Supported by a Specialist STEM Teacher, students engage in hands-on, inquiry-based activities that spark curiosity and develop critical thinking skills.

What STEM Looks Like at OLA

Our STEM program empowers students to explore and innovate through:

  • Coding and Robotics – Building problem-solving skills and creativity through programming and automation.
  • Design and Digital Technologies – Encouraging students to design, create, and evaluate solutions using modern tools and platforms.
  • Engineering Challenges – Applying scientific principles to real-world problems.
  • Mathematical Thinking – Strengthening logical reasoning and analytical skills.

Competitions and Achievements

STEM at OLA extends beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to participate in Maths, Robotics, and Gaming competitions, where our teams consistently achieve outstanding results. These experiences foster teamwork, resilience, and a passion for innovation.

STEM Club

For students in Years 4–6 who show a keen interest in STEM, we offer an additional lunchtime STEM Club. This provides a space for deeper exploration, creative projects, and collaborative problem-solving in all areas of STEM.

At Our Lady of the Assumption School, STEM is more than a subject—it’s a pathway to future possibilities. We are committed to equipping students with the skills and confidence to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
