Homework

Regular homework, appropriate to the age and stage of development of children, is an integral part of learning at OLA.:

Homework tasks may include:

  • reading
  • research
  • preparing a class talk
  • finishing class work
  • revision of class work
  • memorising information
  • practice and consolidation of skills taught in class.

If children experience difficulty with homework, parents are asked to seek an appointment with the teacher in order to work out appropriate support for the child.

It is the responsibility of the parent to supervise children in completing homework tasks. Time spent in homework varies from class to class.  Class teachers outline homework requirements for their class at the beginning of each year at the Parent Information Evenings.
